Mile Sandel, the manager of delegation by New Zealand, said that their team is interested to play in the Sylhet Divisional stadium in coming October, if the renovation work is completed within the assigned date.
The four-member delegation team of New Zealand visited the Sylhet Divisional on Monday to inspect the security system, wickets and the outfield conditions. In addition, they also checked the practice field of Sylhet District stadium and Cadet College.
The other three members of the team included Sam Dickson, the security service expert, Heath Mills, the chief executive manager of New Zealand Cricket Players Association and Henry Moore as the representative of the Player’s Association.
After the inspection, Sandel said the journalists, “The natural scenery that surrounds the Sylhet stadium is delightful and charming. The renovation works are being done. If the remaining work of the stadium and the wickets are completed within the defined time, the New Zealand team is definitely going to play here.”
The chief executive officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), NizamuddinChowdhury said, “The New Zealand delegation has expressed satisfaction after visiting the Sylhet stadium. The renovation works are expected to complete even before deadline.”
In October, New Zealand will visit Bangladesh to play two test matches, three ODI’s and one twenty-20 matches.
